RUDDER'S RANGERS is the story of the men of the United States Army's
2nd Ranger Battalion. The author, Ronald L. Lane, introduces the
commander, Lieutenant Colonel James Earl Rudder, and the men of the
battalion as they prepare for their exceptionally dangerous D-Day
mission: the assault on Omaha Beach and up the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc.
As a former Ranger himself, he expertly presents the Ranger's daring
attack on the treacherous Normandy beaches. He interviewed hundreds of
survivors and deftly weaved their thoughts with the facts into an
extraordinary true narrative. You will recognize that the
accomplishments of Rudder's Rangers were indeed great, as were their
sacrifices.

Those words, spoken by General Norman Cota on D-Day, 6 June 1944,
became the rallying cry for the men of the 5th Ranger Battalion. They
charged across Omaha Beach that day, leading the Allies toward a
victory which would otherwise have been certain defeat. The Rangers
suffered many casualties, but always they would accomplish their

all these thousands of years? There are so many questions. Many have
said that they have found it. They have reported seeing something that
looks like an Ark on Mt. Ararat. Ours is a search for truth.
